HA TIEN x REBOWL
We already hinted at it last week, and now we can finally officially announce it: In collaboration with the company RECUP, we're launching the REBOWL project! It's no secret that "takeout, please" unfortunately also generates a lot of waste. The coronavirus crisis and the situation-related switch of many restaurants to a takeout-only service have inevitably led to an accumulation of waste. 🚯
Sustainability is very important to us at HA TIEN, which is why we're now going a step further and introducing the REBOWL deposit system. This is a Germany-wide deposit system for reusable packaging, introduced by RECUP, to make single-use packaging obsolete. The packaging is made of environmentally friendly polypropylene (PP), and the lid is made of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). Because the PP bowls are heat-resistant and microwave-safe, we can finally pack hot and liquid foods easily and safely. ♻️
The system works very simply, similar to the way you deposit plastic bottles at a supermarket. For a deposit of €10, you'll receive your REBOWL bowl and a discount of €0.50 with your order. After you've finished our (delicious!) food, simply return the empty bowl and get your deposit back. Or you can order from us again right away and avoid paying the €10 fee again. 🙌
The bowls are cleaned in the dishwasher at a minimum of 60 degrees Celsius (in compliance with hygiene standards) and reintegrated into the deposit system. You don't need to worry about coronavirus; according to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, potential coronaviruses are safely and effectively removed by grease solvents in soaps and dishwashing detergents. 💪
Help us reduce packaging waste along the Danube, on Jahn Island, or on Grieser Spitz! Because the more people participate in the reusable system, the more incentives will be created for other businesses, and we can all benefit from this: our city, the restaurants, the environment, and ultimately our climate! 💚
