The holidays are just around the corner, and for us, too, it's time to rest, recharge, eat cookies, and spend time with family. The kitchen at HA TIEN will be entering its well-deserved hibernation from December 24, 2020, to January 3, 2021, inclusive, so that we can once again conjure up delicious meals for you in the new year, full of energy and enthusiasm. 🎄

2020 was a very turbulent year for all of us, with many ups and downs, most notably the coronavirus pandemic. Our industry was hit hard by the necessary closures and measures, and we could never have imagined what was in store for us. 😵

For the first time in almost 20 years, we were only able to operate takeout for over half a year. During the first lockdown in spring, we decided to remodel our dining rooms and make them safe and secure so we could finally serve you indoors again—which unfortunately wasn't possible due to the second lockdown. 😭

Nonetheless, our family remains optimistic and we always try to see the positive in every situation. And there are definitely many positive things for us in 2020 as well! Thanks to the renovations, we are now perfectly prepared for 2021. If the restrictions are relaxed again, we can react quickly and flexibly and hopefully welcome you back inside soon. 😍

We've also used the time to completely redesign our website and introduce an online ordering system. We've also partnered with the startup VYTAL to finally offer an environmentally friendly, reusable system with high-quality, reusable bowls for our takeaway service—and we've done it with great success! So far, we've been able to save up to 2,000 single-use packaging items (and thus waste). Thank you for your great feedback and support! ♻️

We don't know what awaits us in the new year, but we're incredibly excited to be able to cook and spoil you again, and we're diligently using the holidays over Christmas and New Year to further develop our ideas for 2021. We hope to soon offer our previously announced homemade pastes and sauces for sale in our online shop. The planning and design are very complex, and unfortunately, we haven't had the time for it yet, but we will definitely use 2021 to realize this project as well. Starting in the new year, it will also be possible to pack your meals in VYTAL's reusable containers when ordering via Lieferando. 🚀

By the way: The best thing we're taking with us from 2020? That's you, of course! Your support, your many lovely comments, messages, and emails, and your willingness to support small, local businesses like us during this difficult time, have helped us throughout the year and given us the courage to start 2021 full of energy and motivation. So: Thank you, you're the best! ♥️

With that in mind, we bid a final farewell to the "rollercoaster year" of 2020 this Wednesday, December 23rd, and look forward to serving you dinner once again. 🔥

So come by, enjoy the last days of the year, celebrate a cozy and peaceful Christmas, have a good start to 2021, and don't eat too many cookies so you still have room for our fiery dishes in the new year! 🙏🎉🎊
